Changes to Microsoft SharePoint Online information management and in-place records management

Microsoft has announced the retirement of some SharePoint Online information management and in-place records management features, starting April 2026.

Our iWorkplace™ solutions already use modern Microsoft Purview capabilities and do not rely on any of the features being retired.

Some organisations – especially those with older Microsoft365 tenants – may still have these legacy features enabled or built into day-to-day processes.

The retirement will only cause issues if your current business processes depend on them. That’s why now is the right time to review how information is classified, protected, and governed across your environment.
